Problem Solve Galore!!

A lot has happened since my last blog post and EDCI is moving full steam ahead on their project! They have been divided up into four teams: Data, Framework, Strategy, and Implementation all tasked with the common goal of reworking the organizations strategies and goals of EDCI to focus on Family Success.

EDCI has worked through multiple problem solves, using 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Brainstorming (See picture above)! Since my last post I have implemented a Visual Board to help the 4 teams keep track of everything that is going on. It has been great to see EDCI utilizing the experience, opinions, and talents of all its employees to make the organization even better!

Our next big event is Holiday Zone! This will happen on December 9th, it is a huge event where EDCI collects toys from multiple organizations and donations from its partners! Parents and families within the Zone are invited to “Shop” for toys, books, etc. for their children’s Christmas presents.  EDCI sets up a wrapping station and has volunteers wrap gifts for the parents as well as a serve refreshment/snack area for everyone to celebrate the holidays!

Here’s how you help: 1. Email me if you are interested in volunteering (we will need volunteers to help set up Dec 8 and for the actual event Dec 9) or 2. Donate New Toys or Books. I am looking to have a Donation box set up at GSK Zebulon. In the meantime, feel free to start collecting new toys, books, etc. for children ages 0-15.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at megan.perry@edci.org
