Made it to Manila

After a full day of traveling with stops in Detroit and Tokyo I finally arrived at my home for the next six months. There has been a lot preparation to get ready for this assignment but it became very real when I walked out of the airport in Manila.

I am thankful to GSK for giving me this opportunity and to my coworkers who will cover my customers while I am away. I also appreciate the support of family and friends during this time.

I start my position at Save the Children on Monday which gives me some time to explore Manila. Hopefully my next blog will give you a better taste of the Philippines and the work I will be involved with during this assignment.

  1. Glad you made it safely to Manila, Dean!! The sensation of stepping off the plane, where people are speaking a different language and where the air even smells and feels differently than back home is certainly a dose of reality! I’m very excited for you on the start of your adventure. Enjoy these first days! Ingat!

  2. Welcome to Manila, Dean!! I know you will love your home for the next six months. I know you were inducted into the heat and hearing Tagalog. I’m very excited for you on the start of your adventure. Salamat Po!
