Agnes will provide her expertise around the whole Tender process with a focus on how to build a robust financial model around the process and to establish costing assumptions that can be used on various tenders. Training materials will also be created that can be utilised and built upon by SCA going forward.

Ahmed will work as a Human Resource Associate, assisting with the update of the staff database in the Human Resources Department based on the number of projects and accuracy of staff information as a resource to the organization. He will also focus on staff team building and creating a spirit of one Amref health Africa team.

A Principal Scientist based in Spain, Albane will be completing an assignment in Port-au-Prince, Haiti working with Save the Children as a Campaign Consultant. Save Haiti is currently working on a national campaign, with the goal of facilitating multi-sector coordination and support mechanisms for Education, Health, and Protection at central and local levels. As part of this campaign Albane will work to provide capacity building for community partners to acquire the necessary skills to allow them to co-design data collection tools as well as on how to use information/knowledge on issues related to for example child rights. She will also work on the design of communication materials with community partners.

Saúde Criança is a social organization with a pioneer methodology that provides wide-ranging support to very poor families with chronically ill children for more than 24 years. The assignment is intended to improve and review the system processes, results and measurement of the work made by the organization, to ensure efficiency.

A Category Manager based in the UK, Alex will be completing his assignment in Abuja, Nigeria working with Clinton Health Access Initiative as a Nutrition Scoping Analyst. Alex will work on the creation of local food processing manufacturers, and assist with determining all the elements required for establishing food companies that will produce the identified nutritious foods at scale. He will also work on organizing food distribution and develop the most appropriate methods of packaging that are low-cost, limit waste and maintain food quality in the home.

She will work as a Business Manager aiding in the expansion of the Eminyeeto bakery business to new markets, by expanding production sites to new Ugandan villages and by diversifying the bakery goods. Her work should also aim to target women and girls involvement in entrepreneurial activities in Uganda and aim to increase household income.

One of the core areas for Save the Children’s work in nutrition and child survival is the Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM). During her assignment she will review and evaluate the use of CMAM Report in Save programmes and by partner agencies. This work will include visits to country offices and interviews with key individuals involved in rolling out CMAM Report.

An Investigator based in the UK, Bianca will be completing her assignment in the UK working with Project HOPE UK as a School Programmes Development Officer. Bianca will work on general engagement/communications targeting primary schools in the UK with the aim to help children gain greater understanding of the way their peers in another culture live, to be actively engaged in growing plants and learning about how they contribute to healthy nutrition. She will also aim to raise significant funds to help combat childhood malnutrition in undeveloped communities in South Africa.

It is expected that around 450 clients will attend this events, with the opportunity of attending more than 20 conferences and workshops about health care, financial education, business skill, and empowerment. She will be working as a Consultant with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), a global NGO start up which is being incubated by Save the Children. The HLA is a learning initiative set up to facilitate partnerships and collaboration between NGOs, companies and communities to enable people to prepare for and respond to humanitarian crises. Shaun will help EDC’s determine whether they need to re-brand certain programs and services. She will also identify strategies for incentivizing partners to work with EDCI. The overall goal of this work is to increase recognition of EDCI and its services in the community.

Tamsin will work as a Informatics Consultant, focusing on organizing and analysing the data PIH/IMB receives from multiple sources, including internally collected data, data from the Rwandan Ministry of Health and community data. Tamsin will work to create a long-term strategy and implementation plan for the informatics team to improve data collection, cleaning, storage, and utilization.

Tara’s assignment will focus on the GSK Collective IMPACT Award for Philadelphia which The Food Trust leads. Through this three-year grant, The Food Trust and nine other non-profit Collective partners are working to empower the city’s youth to become leaders for healthy change. Tara will specifically help ensure that the Collective will be in a stronger, more sustainable position at the conclusion of the three-year grant, with one key strategy to continue Collective goals and activities after the IMPACT award concludes.

A Sr Scientist based in the US, Temi will be completing her assignment in Abuja, Nigeria working with Clinton Health Access Initiative as a Family Planning Program officer. Temi will work to support a postpartum family planning project with the aim to provide women the choice of more effective contraceptive methods by increasing access to the long acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) such intrauterine devices (IUD) commonly known as the coil and implants (inserted under the skin) in three key Nigerian states. Temi key deliverables include developing training materials, counseling guide and handbook for healthcare workers and the traditional birth attendants (TBA); and developing job aids, information education communication (IEC) material to be used in the health care facilities in the 3 key focal states.
