I have not written for a while now. International volunteers have the opportunity to explore the new location, people and culture. We local volunteers get on with our regular chores during the weekend. But I kept thinking about Development in general and what it means to various people in various situations.
Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend a fundraiser for a non-profit organization that helps underprivileged kids get good education in a developing country. That made me think how important the work Ed fund is doing is. Ed fund is working hard to provide access to quality education to Philadelphia area children. I realized how valuable this is and was able to relate the kind of programs the other non-profit organization is doing in a developing country.
So in the past few weeks, I have been busy with working to bring about some changes to Ed fund’s IT infrastructure. I am glad to report that there has been good progress. Providing the right IT tools to these dedicated Ed funders so they can be productive and do their job to the best of their ability. Soon we will be migrating to a new solution that would provide 24×7 access to all their data, will provide good performing systems. Having been able to do this brings a special kind of satisfaction.
Stay tuned to find out about the progress and positive changes this migration will bring in to all the users here.
