A Chemist in Burundi: The picture round

It has been a while since my last post, after a slow start everything picked up at the same time and the last few weeks have been really busy, intense and interesting !

Today, I am going to take you on a small journey with a picture round!

Bujumbura town centre ! This may look like a round about but is used by everyone like a normal cross road

Sometimes there is no need for a bike !

Next time, it will be about people living in one of the multiple hills inside the country !

  1. Hi Pam,

Assignment is going really well, Thanks.
Your comment made me smile, it was the idea behind the picture, Burundi is over populated but people lives in the hills not in town or cities and Bujumbura is in many sense the opposite of a metropolis.

There is no traffic jam because there is no traffic …
There is no traffic light because there is no …….. electricity
There is no traffic because no one owns a car …

Apart from near the different markets, activity is low, the town is like a sleepy beauty !

  2. Just caught up on all your reports, sounds like you are having a few challenges and hope you are at least sorted with your flat now. What an experience and so different from the UK! Take care and hope you are enjoying your time there.
