24 hours remaining!

Well in 24 hours I will be leaving Laos after spending 6 months here. I have met some great people in Laos and it is sad knowing I probably will not see them again. Yet, I plan on staying in touch with them via email and Skype.

On the other end, I am excited and ready to come home! I miss my two boys, hubby, two dogs and two cats. Believe it or not, I missed all the morning commotion on feeding all the animals, making sure everyone gets to the bus on time and dealing with a full-time job too. Yet, I did get very spoiled here in Laos.

These past six months were very busy and rewarding both professionally and personally. As a Communications and Development Coordinator for Save the Children I updated their internal website for members, designed a brochure, completed 9 case studies, conducted case study training classes for field staff and launched their first public website for all. I am very proud to say that all my objectives were met!

I encourage you all to look at their site, and learn more about Save the Children in Laos.

Goodbye

While on assignment, I had the opportunity to travel around SE Asia. Traveling in SE Asia is very affordable with low-cost airlines. For example, I flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for $55 one way! So over the past six months, I visited Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Singapore.

Before I end my last blog, I would like to say THANK YOU to GSK for having such a wonderful program and to my manager, Paula Perpall and my team for pulling together while I was away.

Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone! Sharona
