“It’s more fun to be One GSK!” – 2013 GSK Employee Day in the Philippines

On Friday, October 11th, I joined the GSK staff for a fun day at the Philippines Navy for the 2013 GSK Employee Day.  What a show of solidarity and a prime example of “It’s more fun in the Philippines!” and “It’s more fun to be One GSK!”  The GSK teams competed in various events like “Best team chant”, relay games, basketball, and badminton.  The 300+ staff members were divided into 4 teams based on consumer brands sold in the Philippines: Astring-O-Sol, Calpol, Physiogel, and Ambrolex.  The winning team presented a donation to Save the Children at the closing ceremony.  Congrats to team Calpol for being the overall winner and for the generous donation!

I also had a chance to speak briefly about my PULSE experience with Save the Children in the Philippines.  Over the past 4 months, it’s been such a pleasure partnering with GSK HR to advance the GSK and Save the Children Partnership locally.  Kudos to Lito De Guzman’s team for such a successful GSK Employee Day and special thanks to Isa Lee and Dennis Tuazon for your continued enthusiasm and support!  In mid November, our partnership will result in one of the first (if not the first!) GSK Orange Day in full collaboration with Save the Children to support the Dengue Prevention Campaign!  I’m excited for what’s to come in the coming month…

And thanks as always to my Save the Children colleagues from the Child Sponsorship Team: Angelito Bacud and Rosemaie Garcia!  Not only were you a big help in capturing the fun day on film and in explaining the Save the Children initiatives to the GSK employees, I appreciate you helping me to build the bridge between our 2 organizations!  Maraming salamat! (Thank you very much!)

Thanks to Angelito and Rosemaie for helping me to build the bridge between GSK and Save the Children!
