Muzungu! Good morning! ;)

Hello!

How are you all? Working hard or enjoying the Summer? Or working hard AND enjoying the Summer? 😉

Here it’s been pretty busy as some new emergencies occurred… Other things are slowly progressing, e.g. few reports are “under construction” but the challenging bit here is the data… Multiple pack descriptions, multiple pack sizes, product codes, etc, are these days always on my mind.

Outside work things are looking a bit better, different kind of challenges. The last one was the Congo Nile Trail. It’s a 10 day trek, 227 kilometers stretching from Rubavu to Rusizi via Karongi and Nyamasheke districts but due to lack of time we decided to cover part of it by motorbikes (men) and by car (women). It was 100km drive from Rubavu / Gisenyi to Kibuye and it took us approx.  6 hours. Yes… it was a challenging drive but the landscapes there are just amazing! Few photos below. The other thing I will never forget are kids in the villages we passed through. All our way was accompanied by children shouting: “Muzungu! Good morning!“. Sometimes we didn’t even see them but we could hear: “Muzungu! Good morning!“.

I am looking forward to covering the 2nd part of the trail in the near future. Just need to fix the car… or better, get a proper 4×4 instead! 😉

  1. We are not convinced you are doing any work!!!! Ha ha
Lovely pictures they beat the views of M4 and the canal
What do you mean “fix the car” you’ve not broken another one?

    1. Mick, I am! Trust me 😉 Ok, not today as it was declared a public holiday (it was announced late evening yesterday!) haha
And the car… well as I mentioned it was a dirt road, very bumpy… Only one piece fell off… Apart of that I managed to get to Kibuye without a single puncture! That’s a success! 🙂

  2. Wow, am well impressed with your driving skills 🙂 And like the approach to public holidays… I think the UK is a bit too inflexible about them 😉

  3. Anna, this sounds fantastic, wondering why you have not chosen the motorbikes though 🙂 take care and send us more pictures, they are amaizing !!!

  4. Oh Ania these pictures, I think I am going to move in and be your driver!!! Are you sure you are not in paradise???? Please please please send more of these. And remeber some cats pls!!!!!! XXXXX

    1. Sorry Beata but I love driving! Position of a co-pilot is available though! 😉
      I haven’t seen my neighbours’ cat for a while… I will investigate this… 😉

  5. Truly breathtaking photos Ania. Glad you get the opportunity to see these places even if it means you have to do a little bit of work every now and then 🙂 Wish Mick would declare tomorrow a public holiday…;)

  6. Exactly, a little bit of work from time to time is acceptable 😉
And tomorrow is a day off! 😉 In the worst case we just have to wait 5 days for a next one 😉

  7. Wow! Breathtaking views, looks incredible! I am glad you are having a good time over the weekend to prepare you for work of the week.. Take care and looking forward for your next adventure!
