Save the Children in Ethiopia

On October 1, 2012, the seven members of Save the Children in Ethiopia (Canada, Denmark, Finland Norway, Sweden, UK and USA) came together to form a single organization.  On Monday, October 29th, a launch reception was held at the Hilton Hotel in Addis Ababa and several donor and NGO partners, staff, and local media were in attendance.

This unification will enable the organization to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.  With a national coverage of 1834 staff members, 39 offices in 8 regions, the organization hopes to be more efficient and effective with its resources, and a better partner to all levels of the government, local communities, civil society, families, and children.

Save the Children 2010-2015 strategy sets out an ambitious goal for reach, impact, and funding to achieve more for children in the following thematic areas:

Food Security/Livelihoods

HIV and AIDS

WaSH

Nutrition

Every ONE Campaign

Education

Child Protection

Child Rights Governance
