Focus Group Sucess…
We had their first ever focus group today at Urban Ministries. It went really well. The turnout was lower than expected, but the feedback was fantastic. In many organizations they tend to use internal language to external audiences, and we wanted to see what messages resonated with them, and what were compelling, motivating, and inspiring. We found that people are inspired by pictures more than words (not a huge surprise there), and that the organization’s existing messages are great, but need more calls to action. Overall, the feedback was extremely valuable, all for the cost of some coffee and fruit (Sounds familiar from a field rep, no?).
Not only did we get good feedback, the organization is left with templates of how to set up and run a focus group, contributing to the sustainability we are trying to adhere to. This morning was very motivating and felt like one of the reasons to be here, and one of the biggest reasons I am part of the PULSE program, to make a difference, effect positive change, and inspire people.
