I just learned that today marks the 8th year of the passing of Alexandra Scott, the founder of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. I learned this after a reading a blog her mother (the co-executive director of the foundation) had posted on Alex’s legacy. I read this after sitting in a 2 hour meeting with her mother and father and the scientfic advisory board discussing updates and recommendations to the pediatric cancer research grants for the upcoming year.
The fact that her parents would come to the office on this day and continue pursuing Alex’s dream to eradicate childhood cancer is awe-inspring to me. I marvel not only at them but at Alex as well, along with all the other children and families affected by this devastating disease. I’m honored to be part of this organization and to help them pursue their vision.
